Do I need to edit the player to suite my site?

In short the answer is generally no.
Each player set comes with it's own Emp_(skin_Name).cfg file which by default is set to use the Jamroom (skin_name).css file found in the skin directory in which you place it.

If you have edited your (skin_name).css file and kept the default name for this .css file the player window should reflect these changes.

With regards to logo's
By default the player calls the default Jamroom logo so if you have changed this logo but called it by the same name you will see your logo in the player window.

With regards to the copywrite notices and the player name this automatically assumes your site's settings.
